Milgard’s most robust vinyl frame, the Tuscany offers a more traditional, sculpted frame with a deeper profile than Trinsic or Style Line. It’s best for homeowners who want the look of high-end wood windows, but in a low-maintenance vinyl product. Trinsic features a slimmer, more modern look, while Style Line is the most affordable and has the narrowest frame.

- The most budget-friendly, Style Line uses the narrowest frames, prioritizing maximum glass area and value.
- Trinsic offers a slimmer, modern frame with more visible glass than Style Line and upgraded features, but still a narrower profile than Tuscany.
- Substantial and classic, Tuscany offers the largest frame profile of the three, providing a more traditional look with stronger structural capacity and customization options—ideal for larger windows or homes with more architectural detail.

If you are looking for a dark framed window, we highly recommend the Milgard Ultra fiberglass line. It’s our favorite Milgard product and highly energy efficient, in addition to its lovely, modern appearance. At this time, we do not install black vinyl products.

Andersen 100 Series uses Fibrex® composite, which is more rigid than vinyl, but limited in color and design flexibility. The Pella 250 line is a vinyl product with a frame profile that’s closer to the look of Tuscany, and similar performance. Tuscany stands out with its Full Lifetime Warranty that includes glass breakage — something not always included with other brands. It also offers more traditional frame styling and a broader selection of colors and operating styles than the Pella 250.
Absolutely. The Tuscany line supports a wide range of custom shapes like arches, circles, octagons and transoms. It’s often used in whole-home replacements where matching architectural details is important, or where a mix of operable and fixed windows are desired, or specialty shapes are needed.

Milgard Tuscany windows are available with a nail-fin frame, ideal for the perfectionist since it requires cutting back and reapplying the stucco around each window. This method is more labor-intensive but results in a cleaner look. It can also be ordered in a block frame or Z-bar configuration for retrofit installation, which avoids disturbing the exterior stucco. While this approach is faster and less invasive, and far more common since it’s budget-friendly, it may not be ideal for every home.

Yes — even with Milgard’s Full Lifetime Warranty on Tuscany® Series products (for original owner-occupied homes within the service territory), several components and finishes are subject to shorter coverage periods or limitations. Here’s what homeowners should know:
Modified Coverage Periods for Specific Components & Finishes
- Painted vinyl frames: 10 years for excessive fading, peeling, checking, chalking, cracking or color change.
- Capstock frames: 10 years for non-uniform fading, warping, pitting, peeling, cracking or corrosion.
- Blinds between the glass / integral shades: 10 years for vision obstruction or functional failure.
- Simulated divided lites (SDLs): 10 years for adhesive failure or distortion.
- Laminated and impact glass units: 5 years for obstruction of vision or significant usage impairment.
- Stress cracks: Covered for 1 year only.
- Weatherstripping & insect screens: 1 year for issues affecting fit, sealing or functionality.
- Stainless steel hardware: 1 year for corrosion.
Milgard does not cover:
- Damage caused by improper installation, building movement, or structural failure
- Issues resulting from lack of maintenance, misuse, or chemical exposure (like power washing or acid cleaners)
- Cosmetic issues like minor scratches or normal weathering from sun exposure
- Glass breakage caused by acts of nature, accidents or vandalism (though breakage is included for Tuscany, some exclusions still apply — see full warranty for details.)
Transferability
- The Full Lifetime Warranty is not transferable. If the home is sold, coverage drops to a 10-year limited parts warranty for the next owner, which begins on the date of manufacture.
Labor & Service Territory
- Free labor coverage is only provided within Milgard’s service territory. If you’re outside that area, you’ll need to cover the cost of shipping and labor yourself.
- Labor is only provided for qualified skilled repairs — simpler tasks like replacing locks or sashes may not qualify.
